Route of the Holy Family

Egypt was vastly traveled by some of the greatest prophets, like Abraham, Joseph, and Moses. Following these prophets on their paths is the most interesting and enlightening journey, that fills hearts, minds, and spirits with the flavor of the challenge and Holiness that they experienced while following God’s word.

A very important path to follow is the visit of the Holy family to Egypt. Characterized by a very special story: with Joseph and Mary carrying baby Jesus fleeing to Egypt, thus avoiding the killing of young boys, entering from North Sinai, and moving all the way up the Nile valley to Asyut in Upper Egypt. This is by far the most amazing journey through the Holy land of Egypt.

"Behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word, for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him ".
