Moses Exodus Route
In the footsteps of the Israelites, we shat visit the most important sites in which they have been. “When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter (that is why the place is called Marah)”. Exodus 15_23. Than they moved to Elim: “Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water.” Exodus 15_27.

We will also visit Mount Sinai where the Lord talked to Moses and gave him the ten commandments. “The Lord descended to the top of Mount Sinai and called Moses to the top of the mountain. So Moses went up”. Exodus 19_20.

Ste Catherine and Mount Sinai

Saint Catherine & Mount Sinai
Saint Catherine’s Monastery, a Greek Orthodox monastery situated on Mount Sinai more than 5,000 feet (1,500 meters) above sea level in a narrow valley north of Mount Mūsā in the Sinai Peninsula.

The Greek Orthodox monastery of the God-trodden Mount Sinai is located at the very place where God appeared to Moses in the Burning Bush, beneath the Mount of the Decalogue.

In the providence of God, this is the oldest continuously-inhabited Christian monastery, with a history that can be traced back over seventeen centuries. The monastery predates the divisions of the Christian world, and its origins extend to late antiquity.
